If you have a diabetic dog like us, you know how difficult it is to select a treat that will not affect him. This is one of those special occasions. It’s simple to make, and even dogs who don’t have diabetes will appreciate them.
- ½ cup whole wheat flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 ½ pounds beef liver, cut into pieces
Step 1 :
Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) (175 degrees C). Using parchment paper, line a 10×15 inch jellyroll pan.
Step 2 :
Place the liver in a food processor and process until smooth. Pulse until the ingredients are coarsely minced. Add the flour and eggs if there’s room in the processor, and process until smooth. Otherwise, transfer to a bowl and use a wooden spoon to mix in the flour and eggs. In the prepared pan, spread evenly.
Step 3 :
In a preheated oven, bake for 15 minutes, or until the middle is firm. Allow it cool before cutting into squares using a pizza cutter. The snacks will have a sponge-like consistency. Refrigerate in a tightly sealed container.
